The opening act of Future Stars Friday is fast, chaotic, and unpredictable. A 5-furlong turf blast, the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint rewards sheer speed and bravery from the gate.

| 1 | Brussels (GB) | 8/1 | +800 |

True Love (IRE): Favoured at 7/2 (+350), she brings elite Group-1 sprint turf form from Europe and has the speed to handle the 5-furlong Del Mar trip. Her style: sharp break, quick to lead or stalk, and then a strong finish. If she gets a clean break, she’ll be tough to beat.
Schwarzenegger: At 5/1 (+500), he offers the leading U.S. speed angle, trained by a yard with excellent Juvenile Turf Sprint history. If he breaks well and dictates tempo, he could steal this. The risk: he must survive a fast early pace and hold on.
Havana Anna (GB): Priced at 6/1 (+600), she has rematch motive (lost to True Love in Cheveley Park) and looks well-suited dropping to five furlongs. Her speed and bounce back chance make her stand out for a win or place.
Brussels (GB): 8/1 (+800) from post 1. Has shown good European sprint form; rail draw could help if he breaks alertly. Needs to find that extra gear at this grade.
Cy Fair: Also 6/1 (+600). American-bred with tactical speed, but post 10 outside means he must overcome a wide trip — still a solid exotics candidate.
Lennilu: 8/1 (+800). Outside post (12) makes the trip tricky; if she secures a sweet path, she could sneak into the money.

Update – Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) WINNER
Super Corredora pulled off a surprise victory in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), defeating race favorite Explora at Del Mar. The filly showed impressive acceleration and stamina, securing her first Grade 1 win and adding more drama to Future Stars Friday.

The Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies often decide early Eclipse Award debates. Run at 1 1/16 miles on dirt, it’s the purest test of stamina for young fillies.

| 2 | Bottle of Rouge | 9/2 | +450 |

Explora: Trained by a top outfit and priced at 5/2, Explora brings a winning pattern in graded company that signals she can handle the 1 1/16-mile distance. Her ability to break, press, and finish with authority makes her a logical favourite. For bettors, this means she’s the win pick if you want to lean risk.
Bottle of Rouge: At 9/2, she offers a solid win chance without being chalk. Her recent win at this track (Del Mar) shows familiarity with the surface and environment. She’ll likely stay close to the lead and pounce late. Good option as a win or key in exactas with Explora.
Tommy Jo: Priced at 7/2, undefeated so far and has shown two-turn ability. Strong contender whose profile suggests she could out-finish others if the early fractions are hot. Might be second-tier favourite but has upside to win.
Iron Orchard: Listed at 6/1, she’s a serious contender stepping up but may lack the seasoning of the top trio. Her early speed & sharp break are pluses. On the win ticket, she’s a backup option; better used as a place/each-way or in exotics.
Percy’s Bar: At 9/2, same odds as Bottle of Rouge, but might be slightly overlooked. Shows early speed and stamina, but the question is whether she can hold on late. Solid for exotics; a win is possible but less likely.
La Wally: Estimated at 10/1, she brings a compelling late-running style and strong finish in prior starts. The risk is top class and early pace may press her. But value for a place/third finish if you’re stretching beyond the favourites.
Meaning: With odds of 15/1, she’s a long shot but worth a look. Shows promise and may improve with more ground (1 1/16 m). If you believe in the improvement factor, she’s a sleeper win ticket or each-way play.
No scratches reported for now.
Update 10/31/2025 – Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) WINNER
Balantina (IRE) shocked the field at 20/1 (+2000) to capture the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) at Del Mar. Breaking mid-pack, the Irish filly unleashed a strong late surge down the stretch to overtake the race and secure a stunning upset on Future Stars Friday.

A mile on the Del Mar grass, the Breeders' Cup Fillies Turf race often belongs to Europe. Still, American fillies have fought back in recent editions.

Precise (IRE): Precise was the favorite for the race, but unfortunately, he scratched.

“Precise gave ten coughs this morning. We sent her bloods to the lab and unfortunately the results weren’t satisfactory, so she won’t run.” Aidan O’Brien pic.twitter.com/zeUbvtNbVe
Time To Dream: At 5/1, she’s arguably the strongest U.S. hope, with a sharp tactical profile and improvement curve. If she draws a decent path and avoids being compromised on the bend at Del Mar, her finishing style makes her a strong contender for both win and place.
Ultimate Love: Priced at 8/1, she offers win value and a solid place chance. She has raced well on turf, handles the mile, and could benefit if pace collapses or the top pick bogs down. Suitable for win-bets if you want a less obvious alternative.
Imaginationthelady: At 10/1, she has upside and tactical versatility. She may not have the raw global class of the top pick, but she’s a strong second-tier contender who can sneak into the money with a clean trip and late kick.
Queen of Hawaii (IRE): Listed at 12/1, this Euro‐shipped filly brings stamina and turf pedigree. Post and trip could be tricky, but the price compensates. A good exotic option rather than a straight win shot.
Balantina (IRE): The value play at 30/1. Big odds reflect questions about class and adaptation, but if she settles well, finds a clear path, and finishes with a kick, she could reward contrarian bets. A small speculative win ticket or solid each-way choice.

Update 10/31/2025 – Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) WINNER
Ted Noffey, the heavy favorite, lived up to expectations by winning the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) in a thrilling battle against Brant at Del Mar. The two colts dueled stride for stride for most of the race, but Ted Noffey showed his class in the final furlong, pulling ahead to win decisively with a time of 1:42.25. This victory cements his position as the early frontrunner for the 2026 Kentucky Derby trail.

The main event of the day. The Breeders' Cup Juvenile crowns the top 2-year-old colt and often points to the early Kentucky Derby favorite. It’s 1 1/16 miles of raw potential meeting real pressure.

Ted Noffey (4/5): The clear standout, Ted Noffey has dominated every start leading to the Cup. A sharp gate horse with tactical control, he’s the complete juvenile package — stamina, consistency, and maturity beyond his age. His only risk is pace pressure early, but otherwise, he’s the benchmark for all others.
Brant (5/2): Brant brings that late-kick danger. He’s the proven stalker who can capitalize if Ted Noffey faces too much company up front. His steady progression and strong closing fractions in prep races make him the most credible upset pick. For bettors, he’s a perfect exacta or win hedge.
Blackout Time (SCR): Unfortunately, Blackout Time was scratched from the Breeders' Cup Juvenile
Intrepido (8/1): Underrated runner with a balanced style — not blazing early, not too far back either. If the pace goes too hot, his stamina edge could make him a late-stage threat. Offers a good blend of value and plausibility for bettors building trifecta or superfecta tickets.
Litmus Test (15/1): He’s lightly raced but improving, with a pedigree that screams distance. Likely to sit mid-pack and try to close. At 15/1 he’s not impossible, but would need others to falter. Suitable for wide exotics coverage rather than win bets.

Update 10/31/2025 – Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) WINNER
The favorite Gstaad (GB) closed out Future Stars Friday in style, winning the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) at Del Mar. The colt justified his top billing with a dominant performance. This win capped a thrilling day of juvenile competition and marked a strong showing for the European contingent.

The finale of Future Stars Friday is usually a chess match between European class and American grit in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf.
| PP | Horse | Fractional | American |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Heeere's Johnny | 15/1 | +1500 |
| 2 | Street Beast | 10/1 | +1000 |

| 5 | Let's Be Frank | 15/1 | +1500 |
| 6 | North Coast (IRE) | 30/1 | +3000 |
| 7 | Gordon Pass | 20/1 | +2000 |
| 8 | Stark Contrast | 30/1 | +3000 |

| 10 | Ardisia (IRE) | 15/1 | +1500 |
| 11 | Turf Star | 30/1 | +3000 |
| 12 | Bottas | 6/1 | +600 |
| 13 | Hey Nay Nay (IRE) | 8/1 | +800 |
| 14 | Gstaad (GB) | 9/5 | +180 |
Last Updated on 10/31/2025
Gstaad (GB) (9/5): Aidan O’Brien’s powerhouse colt owns the class edge here after a strong European campaign capped by a commanding Dewhurst performance. His tactical cruising speed and proven stamina at a mile make him the most reliable option. If he travels well and avoids traffic from the outside draw, he’s the one to beat.
Argos (6/1): The leading American hope. His closing speed in the Pilgrim Stakes was electric, and Del Mar’s layout suits his late burst. The key will be pace setup—he’ll need the front-runners to soften each other early. A fair 6/1 shot who offers value for win and exacta bettors.
Bottas (6/1): Versatile and improving, Bottas brings solid consistency across preps and a running style that fits perfectly for this mile trip. Expect him to sit mid-pack and pounce turning for home. A smart inclusion for win pools or multi-race tickets if the track plays kindly to stalkers.
Hey Nay Nay (IRE) (8/1): European juvenile with the kind of stretch acceleration that can translate to Del Mar’s quick turf. He’s lightly raced, so the upside is real. The draw near the outside could be a challenge, but his late engine keeps him in every exotic conversation.
Street Beast (10/1): At 10/1, this improving colt brings U.S. prep seasoning and adaptability. He’s not flashy but runs hard every time. If he secures a ground-saving trip, he can make noise in the stretch. Strong candidate to finish third or better at a solid price.
Outfielder (10/1): Another consistent American type, Outfielder tends to stay on late rather than quicken sharply, but his reliability makes him a good inclusion for trifecta tickets. Needs firm ground and a clean rail path to hit the board.

Future Stars Friday is shaping up as a bettor’s puzzle with sharp contrasts — dominant favorites, deep second tiers, and several longshots worth respect. As always, spreading across races and mixing chalk with mid-prices pays better than chasing a single-ticket parlay.
Favorites will be hard to oppose outright, but the undercards promise chaos. Bettors should key Ted Noffey and Gstaad on top while building exotics with strong mid-priced runners like Brant, Explora, and Argos to balance risk and reward.
Future Stars Friday isn’t just a warm-up act; it’s the breeding ground of tomorrow’s champions. Each juvenile on the Del Mar stage carries the potential to headline the Derby, Oaks, or Turf showdowns of 2026. Composure and trip luck will decide who launches into stardom — and who gets schooled by experience.
