The $2 million Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf has been run since 1999. Among the prominent winners are Ouija Board (2004, 2006), Loves Only You (2021), and Tuesday (2022).

The 1 3/16-mile Filly & Mare Turf is the seventh race on the second day of the $34 million, 14-race, two-day Breeders' Cup at Keeneland.
The race will be televised by USA Network and Peacock. The pre-entries will be announced on Wednesday, Oct. 21; the gate draw is Monday, Oct. 26.
Note: Jockeys listed below are from the horse’s previous race; changes are likely.
She's a strong candidate to give Brown his record-extending fifth win in this race. She's 3-for-4 this year, all stakes, including the "Win and You're In" Flower Bowl Stakes (G2) last time. The slight turnback from 1 1/4 miles also should help. The 5-year-old daughter of American Pharoah has a strong finishing kick, handles any course condition, and is 12-for-13 in the money on grass. The Filly & Mare Turf will be her career finale before she is sold two days later at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale.
Betting angle: Because Kathynmarissa has never faced top Europeans, don't take less than 4-1 against the best field she's ever faced.
What to watch: Whether Ortiz can maneuver her to the outside entering the far turn. She likes to launch her strong rallies while wide.
Like Kathynmarissa, she's also 3-for-4 this season. Her versatility is a big plus because she is comfortable setting the pace or stalking. Distance is the concern. She's outstanding at a mile and a mile and a sixteenth but finished seventh in her only try at 1 1/8 miles in the Regret Stakes (G2) in May 2025 at Churchill Downs. Another option is the Mile (G1) at her preferred distance, but it would be her first race against males.
Betting angle: Don't take a short price on a horse trying a distance she's never run.
What to watch: The early fractions will be crucial because Classic Q will try to set or track the pace. If they're moderate to slow, she might be able to handle 1 3/16 miles.
If this superstar comes over from England, her 9-for-11 record would make her the likely favorite. The 4-year-old also would be a contender in the Mile, however, because she's won four consecutive Group 1 races going that far. In her last race she dominated the Sun Chariot Stakes by 2 3/4 lengths on the straight course at Newmarket.
Betting angle: Even though she's never gone beyond a mile, her two wins at stamina-testing Newmarket suggest she can go farther. Odds of 5-2 would make her worth a wager.
What to watch: Whether she relaxes early in the race. If she does, she's likely to be in the mix at the finish.
Why a value bet? Distance won't be a problem for this 4-year-old. She led throughout a 4 1/4-length runaway in the 1 1/4-mile Rodeo Drive Stakes (G2) on Oct. 3 at Santa Anita. She's 8-for-11 on turf for Phil D'Amato, California's top grass trainer.
The risk: Can she pass the class test? She's been dominating so-so fields in California. She's never faced a group as deep and as talented as this one.
