Pre-entries close October 19, with final entries closing October 26 at Keeneland. Until the entry process is complete, horses listed on this page should be considered contenders rather than confirmed starters.
Winning a Breeders' Cup Challenge Series race is the most direct route to championship weekend. Eligible nominated winners earn an automatic starting position in the corresponding Breeders' Cup division.

There is an important difference between a contender and a confirmed entry. A horse may target a Breeders' Cup race for months before connections formally pre-enter or enter the Championship.
