The Adirondack Stakes is a Grade III Thoroughbred race held annually at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. Contested at 6½ furlongs on the dirt exclusively for 2-year-old fillies, it is one of the premier juvenile filly sprint tests in America and one of the oldest races in Saratoga's storied history, first run in 1901. Named for the Adirondack Mountains of northeastern New York, the race was originally open to all 2-year-olds before being restricted to fillies in 1930. Classified as Grade III in 1999, the Adirondack has produced a distinguished roll of honor including champions My Miss Aurelia, Folklore, and Echo Zulu, all of whom went on to win the Grade I Spinaway Stakes later in the Saratoga meet. D. Wayne Lukas holds the all-time trainer record with seven wins, including Naughty Gal in 2022. Jorge Velasquez leads all jockeys with four victories. Only four horses have ever swept the Schuylerville, Adirondack, and Spinaway in the same season, with The Queens M G in 2024 completing that rare treble. The stakes record of 1:15.16 was set by You in 2001.
The 2026 Adirondack Stakes is scheduled for Sunday, August 2nd at Saratoga Race Course. Contested at 6½ furlongs on the dirt with a purse of $200,000, the race is one of the most important 2-year-old filly sprint tests in the country and a key prep for the Grade I Spinaway Stakes later in the Saratoga meet.
Mythical gave trainer Jorge Delgado and jockey Emisael Jaramillo a 2025 victory in 1:17.20 for Arindel LLC, the filly rallying late to score her first graded stakes win. The Queens M G gave trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. and jockey Dylan Davis a 2024 win in 1:17.83 for C Two Racing Stable and Mathis Stable, completing a remarkable Schuylerville-Adirondack-Spinaway sweep — one of the rarest achievements in Saratoga juvenile racing. Brightwork gave trainer John Ortiz and jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. a 2023 score in 1:16.85 for WSS Racing, the unbeaten daughter of Outwork going on to win the Grade I Spinaway and establish herself as the top 2-year-old filly of the division. Naughty Gal gave Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas his seventh Adirondack victory in 2022 under Luis Saez in 1:18.97 for Holy Cow Stables. Wicked Halo gave trainer Steve Asmussen and jockey Jose Ortiz a 2021 score in 1:17.99 for Winchell Thoroughbreds.
