The first of nine Breeders’ Cup races on Saturday is the $1 million Dirt Mile (race 3, post time 2:30 p.m.).
Cody’s Wish is almost everyone’s choice to complete a dream career for his pal, Cody Dorman. He’s the 9-5 favorite. The Preakness winner National Treasure is also in the seven-horse field at 8-1.
Dorman, now 17, was born with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome; as a result, Dorman uses a wheelchair and communicates with a tablet. In 2018, he met the foal named for him at a farm in Kentucky, and the two formed a strong bond.
