Breeders' Cup World Championships

The 2026 Breeders' Cup World Championships return to Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Kentucky, on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31. The two-day championship features 14 Grade 1 races and more than $34 million in purses and awards, bringing together leading Thoroughbreds from around the world on dirt and turf.

Breeders' Cup Entries & Field Selection

Online pre-entry opens October 1, with the official pre-entry deadline set for Monday, October 19 at noon ET.

When a Breeders' Cup race is oversubscribed, the field-selection process determines which horses receive starting positions. Pre-entry rankings for oversubscribed races will be issued October 21, with final entries closing Monday, October 26 at 10:00 AM ET at Keeneland.

Most Breeders' Cup races can start up to 14 horses, with up to four also-eligibles. The Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile and Juvenile Turf Sprint are limited to 12 starters, with up to six also-eligibles.

Individual race pages will be updated with confirmed entries, post positions, jockeys, and official odds as the championship fields are finalized.
