Formerly known as the Beholder Mile Stakes and renamed in honor of influential owner and breeder B. Wayne Hughes, it’s one of the marquee early-season Grade I races for older distaff runners on the West Coast.
The 2026 B. Wayne Hughes Beholder Mile Stakes is scheduled for March 7 at Santa Anita Park with a purse of about $300,000 as part of the Classic Meet stakes card.
