The last time the Preakness was held at a venue other than Pimlico was 1908, when the race ended a 15-year run at Gravesend Race Track in Brooklyn, New York, making 2026 the first time in 117 years the race has moved to a different track entirely. The nation's top three-year-old Thoroughbreds converge on Laurel Park just two weeks after the Kentucky Derby, making this one of the most historically significant racing events Maryland has ever hosted.
