The 2025 Kentucky Derby is scheduled to start at 6:57 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 3. Eleven other races lead into the Run for the Roses (including the Old Forester Turf Classic), starting at 11 a.m. ET.
Peacock and USA Network will kick off Kentucky Derby Day coverage at 12 p.m. ET, offering fans an early start nearly seven hours ahead of the race’s official post time. At 2:30 p.m. ET, the broadcast transitions to NBC for continued coverage of the Triple Crown’s first jewel.
Churchill Downs will also host a full lineup of races beginning earlier in the day, well before the Derby itself.
