Racing Post Ratings Scream Wuheida in QEII

A few days ago, I discussed how I believe that Beyer Speed Figures have morphed into performance ratings, like those found in the Racing Post. The Racing Post is the European version of the Daily Racing Form and Racing Post Ratings are very similar — especially now — to the Beyer numbers that have appeared in the Form since 1992.

In essence, the Racing Post Ratings are a handicap rating that take race time, competition and weight carried into consideration and in Saturday’s Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (G1) at Keeneland (a potent Breeders’ Cup prep), they identify Wuheida as the clear horse to beat.

Wuheida ships to the Bluegrass State from overseas, where she has been knocking heads with some of the best 3-year-old fillies in Europe. After breaking her maiden Aug. 6 at Newmarket, the daughter of Dubawi jumped right into Group I company and has one win, one second and two very close fourth-place finishes to show for it.

Given that Uni was off the board in a Group III affair at Chantilly and won a Grade II in the United States and Madame Dancealot had mixed form in Europe and also won a Grade II, it kind of makes sense that Wuheida would rank as a formidable foe on Saturday. In fact, comparative handicapping would seem to point to longshot Unforgetable Filly as a contender as well.
